Are you excited for this year’s Sport Aviation Showcase? While it may still be a few months away, that doesn’t stop you from planning, prepping, and daydreaming about the exciting events ahead!

In today’s blog, we’re exploring a practical side of planning for the showcase weekend: what to wear. While it may seem simple, donning the right clothes can improve your weekend in a big way. Take a look at today’s blog to see our best tips for a showcase style that works.

Pack easy

Focus on flying, visiting local attractions, and enjoying your weekend to the fullest—anything but an overly complicated suitcase!

The very nature of the showcase means that you’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors, so don’t feel the need to bring anything especially elegant or hard to wear. Wear your sneakers for easy, comfortable walking around the showcase site (and save some space in your suitcase in the process). Outside of a “smart casual” outfit or two if you plan on exploring local dinner spots or attractions, you won’t need more than t-shirts and comfy shorts or pants for showcase fun.

Layer up

Florida is notoriously hot—but if you’re not from here, you may not realize that temperatures in November and beyond start to get a little milder and a lot more comfortable. At this time of year, layers are your friend! You won’t need a thick winter coat to embrace the weather here, but a simple sweater or hoodie can help you stay warm especially as the sun goes down. Average lows at this time of year are in the mid-fifties, so you can warm up with a light sweater that can be left in your bag or around your waist when it comes time to have fun in the sun in the afternoon!

Consider color

Looking to snap that perfect cockpit photo upon arrival? As is often recommended by plane and helicopter demo operators, dark colors may work to your advantage. Wearing a bold red or blue top (as opposed to white) can ensure that you’re seen through the window without the glare of the sun getting in the way and making you look invisible.

We hope that today’s blog has helped you plan a bit better for showcase weekend. We look forward to seeing you and your fellow fliers very soon!
